Virtual CranioSacral Immune Response Study Groups

Next group topic:  Supporting Clients through their surgical and dental journeys

These monthly 90 minute virtual study groups are designed to deepen and extend the work of Upledger's CSIR curriculum in an ongoing, community-based format. Groups typically meet on the second Tuesday of the month from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm Central Time.

Topics will rotate through immune-related anatomy and physiology — including immune function, inflammation, and viruses — highlighting specific elements of the CSIR curriculum and their direct clinical application. I'll begin each session opens with a brief review of the Upledger paradigm before moving into the featured topic, and close with a 30-minute guided palpation practice.

Topic requests are always welcome, and participants are encouraged to submit questions in advance by email.

Supporting Clients through their surgical and dental journeys

📅 Tuesday, May 12, 2026 | 5:00–6:30 pm Central

Surgical and dental procedures are significant physiological events — taxing to multiple organ systems both directly and peripherally, and often more demanding than clients anticipate. Inflammation, pain, fatigue, and prolonged recovery can catch even well-prepared clients off guard.

As craniosacral practitioners, we have meaningful tools to offer. This study group explores how to support clients before and after procedures — optimizing conditions for healing, tracking the inflammatory process, reducing the risk of complications, and helping the body's tissues, nervous system, and biochemistry regulate more readily in the aftermath.

We'll review what is actually involved in several common procedures — including knee and hip replacement, gallbladder removal, C-section, hernia repair, appendectomy, hysterectomy, and skin cancer excision — and discuss what that means for how we work with clients at each stage. We'll also address dental procedures specifically: why most meet the criteria for surgical classification, and what effective support looks like in that context.

Special focus areas include autonomic regulation pre- and post-procedure, tissue health across the recovery timeline, and considerations specific to "ectomy" procedures such as tonsillectomies, appendectomies, hysterectomies, and lumpectomies.

We'll close with a 30-minute guided palpation exercise where I'll walk you through applying CSIR craniosacral to your own body — whether to release scar tissue or support recovery from a recent surgical or dental procedure.

Advance questions welcome.
