About your CranioSacral Therapist: Emily Klik LMT CST

Thank you for connecting with me! I'm Emily Klik (she/her), and I specialize in CranioSacral Therapy, having trained and certified through the Upledger Institute. (You can find my completed Upledger course list further down this page.)

I see clients of all ages, body types, spiritual beliefs, genders, abilities, and cultural backgrounds. In each session, my goal is to establish a neutral and supportive environment while applying techniques that alleviate pain and help your body, mind, and nervous system to decompress, release, and relax.

My path to becoming a therapist started well before I began working with clients. After enduring unexplained migraines in my teens and twenties that weren't relieved by various treatments or medications, I skeptically tried a CranioSacral Therapy session. To my surprise, that initial session greatly alleviated my head pain, and follow-up sessions significantly reduced the frequency, duration, and intensity of my migraines. For those experiencing migraines or chronic pain, finding a solution can shift life from mere survival to a more vibrant and fulfilling existence.

That eye-opening experience led me to enroll in the Upledger Institute's CranioSacral Therapy 1 program in June 2002, setting me on a lifelong educational journey. I later graduated from EMTS massage school in Skokie, IL, earned my LMT manual therapy license, and became certified as a CranioSacral Therapist through the Upledger Institute. Additionally, I have engaged in mentoring with advanced CranioSacral therapists, participated in Intensive CranioSacral Therapy programs, and taken part in study groups dedicated to this practice.

Experience: I have had the opportunity to work with clients across diverse clinical environments, such as medical clinics, occupational therapy facilities, wellness centers, yoga studios, various house calls. Currently, I support individuals of all ages, backgrounds, cultures, and genders, respecting spiritual and religious beliefs. My expertise covers a wide range of injuries, conditions, and diagnoses, including medical, dental, and behavioral health matters. Interestingly, my youngest client was treated at just 40 minutes old (I was present at birth and assisted the mother during labor), while my oldest client was 93 years old. I also provide care for pregnant individuals throughout all stages of their pregnancy.
