Know Your Body 101 - Updated Slide (3).png

The Central Nervous System

Have you ever wondered what's actually happening inside you when you feel nervous, excited, or calm? Join us for a friendly, no-pressure exploration of the human nervous system — one of the most fascinating and complex systems in nature.

What we'll cover:
• A guided tour of the central & peripheral nervous systems, including cranial and spinal nerves
• How your nervous system controls movement, sensation, and your inner world
• The somatic & autonomic systems — how your body runs on autopilot
• The sympathetic & parasympathetic systems — your gas pedal and your brakes
• Heart Rate Variability — a simple, science-backed trick to help your body relax
• Our TEN (not five) senses! - time permitting

As always, expect some surprising fun facts, practical health hacks, and a chance to ask your burning questions.

This class is family friendly and open to all ages. Whether you're a curious kid, a caregiver, a student, or just someone who wants to understand themselves a little better, you belong here.

Note taking is optional — come as you are and soak it in. No science background needed. No homework, no quizzes, no tests. Just curiosity!

Because the better you know your body, the better you can advocate for your own health and well-being.

Warning: side effects may include increased curiosity and an urge to chat about physiology at dinner parties.

Nothing is so strong as gentleness, and nothing so gentle as real strength ~ Saint Francis de Sales
