Supporting Courage+

Courage+ is a Milwaukee-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting Courage House — the first group home in Wisconsin for LGBTQ+ homeless minors. Courage House provides rescue, shelter, safety, healing, and community, while also advocating for broader acceptance, visibility, and access to resources for the LGBTQ+ community.

Founded in 2015 with humble grassroots beginnings, Courage+ has grown into a powerful force for change — and continues to thrive thanks to the generosity of volunteers and supporters. I’ve been honored to volunteer with this incredible organization, offering help in a variety of ways.

If you would like to get involved, there are several ways to support:

🌈 Volunteer your time
💜 Make a monetary donation
🏢 Start an employer-match donation program
🎁 Purchase an item from the kids’ wish list

Click [here] to visit their “Ways to Help” page and learn more.

The annual Courage Family Gala is coming up on November 7, 2025 at the Baird Center in Milwaukee. Celebrating a decade since the start, click [here] for info, to purchase tickets, and support the online auction, all proceeds benefitting Courage House.

Additionally, if you’re an alternative health care provider or yoga teacher interested in donating your services for a seasonal mini-spa day for Courage+ staff and their partners, please reach out to me directly. I’m currently gathering volunteers for the next event — your support would mean so much!

If you have questions about volunteering, you are welcome to email Rob Thomas directly at rob@courageplus.org
